This program is designed to allow CDBurn to utilise the cddb files
obtainable from the www using AcornCD.
Unfortunately the ID systems presently used by freedb
and CDBurn are different, so some hand editing will
be required to enable CDBurn to identify the correct
playlist after you've transferred it.
The program is shareware and uses DrWimp.
A file is dragged to the iconbar icon from the AcornCD
'db' folders. The program extracts the freedb ID string,
the title and track titles and writes all but the ID,
which it leaves blank, onto the end of the CDBurn
cddatabase file.
Then you will have to look in the Current Audio layout:
Add audio track from CD window to find the CDBurn ID
number and place this by hand-editing into the CDBurn
cddatabase file.
You will need:
AcornCD - from http://redux.org.uk/acorncd/These two apps will allow you to download the data file for a CD which you have in your drive. AcornCD stores the file within a directory 'db' within the application directory.
CdTest - from the same source
It is this file you drag to the cddb application to add its
details to the CDBurn cddatabase file.
Load them both and, with your CD in the drive and your
internet connection operative, click Lookup in the
AcornCD Test Harness window.
This little application is only a stop-gap measure until
Steffen adds freedb support within CDBurn, but may save a bit
of typing!
